health care professionals. We should also be focused on
education, research and policy development, including
cultivating elderly and long-term care specialists.
Social impact

Even Long-term Care 10-Year Plan 2.0 has been
implemented for 2 years, however, healthcare professionals in
Taiwan still have to face the challenges of long-term care,
including low old dependency ratio caused by low birth rate,
lack of elderly and long-term care related manpower, services
and education reform related to long-term care for the future.
And increasing number of family members has become
informal caregivers and experience a considerable caring
burden and stress, because they care for elderly people with
disabilities. In some studies was found that almost all
caregivers have never used formal services that shows the
information is not universal and the gap between needs and
accesses. So, the government should consider how to raise the
visibility of Long-term Care policies. I think if our government
settings Long-term care consultation in medical center, people
will know more and participate.
