  1. 游離腔劑量系統 (Ion Chamber Dosimetry system)

在放射治療中,為了維持穩定的治療系統與提供準確的治療劑量,定期的品質保證作業是不可或缺的工作之一;其中,準確地驗證治療劑量部分,係利用稱為”游離腔(ionization chamber)”的輻射度量儀器,來做劑量之量測與確認。而專門設計用來量測放射治療射束的游離腔稱為”套管式游離腔”,可量測放射治療能量範圍內之光子、電子、與質子治療射束之吸收劑量,這類游離腔體積小,具高靈敏度、空氣等效腔壁、與套管形狀之特徵,在國際上亦有統一的設計標準,如根據Medical Electrical Equipment - Dosimeters with Ionization Chambers as used in Radiotherapy 所制訂的IEC 60731之標準,規定了製造商生產游離腔的品質與穩定性。目前,有提供套管式游離包括德國的PTW與IBA (原Scanditronix Wellhofer)公司,以及美國的FLUKE與Standard Imaging公司等。此外,所使用游離腔,亦須每年定期接受校正,以確保量測輻射劑量的準確性。

套管式游離腔具有以下優點:
•防水,可搭配水假體量測不同治療深度與側向分布之吸收劑量
•含絕緣護套,可大幅降微漏電流低至10-15A (fA)等級
•量取資料即時性
•高敏感度與精確性

本實驗室建置之套管式游離腔,為德國PTW公司生產之Farmer type游離腔與Pinpoint游離腔,並依規定每年追溯至國家游離輻射標準實驗室進行校正。

  1. 光激發光劑量系統 (Optically Stimulated. Luminescence detectors, OSLD)

光激發光量測系統為較新穎的輻射劑量量測技術,其使用氧化铝參雜雜質碳(Al2O3.C)晶體做為劑量計材料,並以綠光發光二極體(LED)做為激發劑量陷阱內電子的能量,並收集被激發的藍光。根據文獻顯示,OSLD具備許多優點,如不易消光、可重複計讀、不受環境之溫、濕度和水氣等條件影響、耐候性佳等。

本實驗室建置的OSLD 劑量系統為Landauer Inc.,包括有nanoDot、EX型光子環境劑量計、LA型中子劑量計,及一台MicroStarTM 計讀儀。

  2. 核儀模組(Nuclear Instrument Module, NIM)

NIM核儀模組是為電子信號處理儀器,常應用於高能物理領域的劑量評估。NIM核儀模組可針對不同實驗需求,彈性地提供不同功能的電子訊號處理模組,來處理及提供所需之微小類比電訊號。NIM核儀模組除了可以提供一般小訊號儀器,如光電倍增管、光二極體、游離腔、及光敏偵檢器等之電訊號處理,若搭配質子、中子、加馬射線等之感測器,即可組合成一套高能輻射實驗量測系統,以進行質子、中子、加馬射線等高能輻射之多種物理量測量。由於NIM核儀模組可彈性地提供多種電子訊號處理組合,故其應用領域十分廣泛。

規格

1. Input Characteristics:
General: One LEMO input connector per channel; bipolar input, accepts positive or negative voltages.
Impedance:  50 W ± 2% direct coupled input.
Protection: Protected with clamping diodes, no damage will occur from transients of ±100Volts (±2 Amps) for 1μSec or less duration.
Reflections: Less than ±4% for input risetime of 1nSec.
Overdrive Response: Recovery time of 20nSec for a ±10 Volt input.
2. Output Characteristics:
General: Four bridged LEMO output connectors per channel. Low impedance voltage source output stage.
Protection: Outputs can be continuously shorted to ground without damage.
Output Voltage Swing: Bipolar outputs deliver over ±2Volts across four 50W loads.
DC Offset: A front panel fifteen-turn potentiometer provides +/- 250mVolt adjustment. A front panel test point allows easy monitoring of the DC offset.

規格 1. Input Characteristics: One LEMO connector input per channel; 50ohms, ±1%, direct coupled; less than ±2% input reflection for a 1.0nSec input risetime; Input protection clamps at +.7Volt and -5Volts, and can withstand ±2Amps (±100Volts), for 1mSec with no damage to the input.
2. Output Characteristics: Three LEMO connector outputs per channel; One negative bridged pair and one complement output. The bridged outputs deliver -32mA into a single 50 ohm load (-1.6Volts) and -16mA (-800mV) with both terminated. The complement is quiescently -16mA and goes to 0 mA during output. The output rise and fall times are less than 1.0nSec from 10% to 90% levels.
Attenuator

規格 The module is a quad, 50 ohm, rotary Pi attenuator, packaged in a single width NIM module. It is configured with 12 positions, ten calibrated steps from .1 to 1.0 attenuation in .1 increments, and an OFF position. An additional open position has been included to allow the user to add another value of attenuation if desired. The module employs a high quality sealed switch that maintains uniform performance in the presence of dust or other contaminates.

規格 The module in a single width NIM module, 4 independent sections performing the logic function, AND or OR, selected via the relevant front panel switch. Each section has 3 normal and 1 complementary NIM shaped outputs whose width can be set via front panel trimmer and a supplementary overlap output (OVP OUT) whose width is equal to the time interval during which the desired function is satisfied. The OVP OUT allows to obtain an output signal with the minimum input/output delay. A common veto input signal is available to disable all the output signals.
Gate/Delay Generator

規格 The Quad Gate/Delay Generator complies fully with the NIM specification TID-20893 and is packaged in a single width module. In mono-stable mode, Gate/Delay periods may be adjusted either locally or remotely from less than 50nSec to more than 10 seconds. Each channel also operates in a Set/Reset flip-flop mode. A bright LED indicates an active gate condition. Versatile input and output structures provide compatibility with NIM, ECL, and TTL standards. Further flexibility is afforded by programming jumpers mounted on the printed circuit board. These jumpers allow selected inputs and outputs to be assigned alternate logic functions or polarities.

規格 The NIM (Nuclear Instrumentation Module) standard was first defined by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission in 1968-1969. The idea was to realize a flexible and simple system based on interchangeable modular electronics for experimental particle and nuclear physics. The goal was completely accomplished, since still nowadays NIM Modules are in widespread use all around the world in experimental physics, either big projects or small laboratories. NIM High Voltage Power Supplies are the best choice for small experiments in which a really low noise feature is expected. CAEN offer a new generation of NIM Power Supplies that can operate in daisy-chain network and can be locally or remotely controlled through a dedicated software. In this way itµs possible to control up to 128 Channels and make of this set-up a system.
