By the internationally renowned Jeffrey Modell Foundation that sponsor the PIDs experts to update the classification of PIDs every two years, our institute is invited to attend this biannual meeting to understand the novel concept for genotype and phenotype of PIDs. Parallel outstanding centers in Europe and United Stated, we serve unfortunate children in time for effective medicine strategy.
We have established a comprehensive framework for a rapid assessment system including new life coming in pregnancy, prenatal screening, newborn re-evaluation, disease-course counseling, hospitalization, transplantation or not, and immune reconstitution after transplantation. Our medical system executes newborn screening for SCID (severe combined T and B immunodeficiency) to early diagnosis, especially those with de novo mutations but without family history of PIDs. Our institute are responsible to confirm diagnosis by functional assessment or/and genetic analysis. To date, we have already served over 500 families and identify 238 patients with PIDs, revealing 129 genetic mutations.
