Q: What is lupus nephritis? And what are the clinical symptoms?

A: Lupus nephritis is when SLE patients have clinical evidence of kidney involvement. Clinical symptoms of lupus nephritis include hematuria, proteinuria, limb pitting edema and kidney function impairment.

Q: I am a SLE patient, will I pass the disease to my children?

A: SLE is not a hereditary disease. But the disease is thought to occur through complicate interactions between one’s environment and genetic predisposition.
