His physical condition was once awful that he was sent
into ICU which is resulted from the failure of his respiratory
system. His condition was really critical but his situation was
ameliorated because of the prudent 24-hours care of his
caregiver. The medical fee was so prodigious and unaffordable,
so his family seek for his friend’s help, another physicist,
Murray Gellmann. It was a boon to Hawking’s life. His
foundation defrayed all his medical fee in ICU and the salary
of his full-time caregiver even after he got out of the severe
condition. After he was discharged, he lost the ability to talk
due to tracheostomy, but with the help of his friend, he was
assisted with a robot plus a super-computer and he was then
able to talk. His second wife, Elaine Mason, was the full-time
care giver that took care of him. They fell in love, and Stephen
divorced his first wife, and said the famous line ”I have loved
you”. But their relationship didn’t last till the end of his life,
they peacefully broke up after 11-years of romance. At the late
years of his life, Jane did not repudiate their relationship,
instead, she forgave Stephen, they got back together and
happily lived the rest of his life.

This is a romantic film, probably it could attest the saying
“behind every great man is an even greater woman.
