Introduction The Department of Otology has been established for over 40 years. The department not only specializes in surgeries for middle and inner ear and treatments on vertigo and tinnitus but also provides cochlear implantation. Our department is the largest among all the hospitals in Taiwan that provides cochlear implantation. Throughout the years, over 600 deaf patients had received cochlear implantation in our hospital. By following up the implanted children’s progresses in audition, language, reading and intelligence after implantation, we gain considerable professional experiences of cochlear implantation and post-implantation services. Furthermore, the hospital also has the largest hearing aid center in Taiwan, offering a wide variety of services regarding to hearing consultation, hearing aids and cochlear implants. |
