Besides the traditional ethical issue, there are still lots of
new bioethical case. Stem cell research is a point of massive
contention.Embryonic stem cell research will happen. The
issue now is how fast, with what level of private and public
support and with what sort of patent and license restrictions on
the research. Between ethical issue, science study and law,
there is still a lot of work to do to maintain the balance.

對醫學、社會方面影響：

Bioethics and the future arrived hand-in-hand, and we
weren't ready. In the last two decades, the new biosciences
have roared into gear, leaving a trail of unprecedented ethical
and moral dilemmas like tire tracks in the road. Modern society
must decide for itself on these issues.

In the park III of the book, the author mentioned the issue
about “ANDi the Fluorescent monkey”. Does it really matter
that scientists can make a slightly fluorescent monkey? The
answer may be not. But the ANDi represents something much
more important. The tiny light cast by this baby monkey shows
that it is possible to genetically engineer ourselves. Suddenly
the science fiction is so close to the science. Using genetics to
change, improve or enhance our children seems to be possible.
Sticking genes into eggs and growing a healthy monkey means
that someday scientists could and most likely will insert genes
