  • 本科自民國75年元旦,由黃嵩雀醫師創立,以促進兒童的健康及神經心智發展為宗旨。
  • 服務的病童包括:
    1. 發展障礙-如腦性麻痺、智障、自閉症、學習障礙、過動症等。
    2. 兒童痙攣-如熱痙攣、兒童良性癲癇、兒童頑固型癲癇。
    3. 神經肌肉病變-如神經炎、肌炎、肌肉營養症、重症肌無力等
    4. 不自主動作症候群-如Tic、妥瑞症、過動症、張力失調症。
    5. 先天性腦部發育異常-如裂腦症、胼胝體發育不全、小頭症、大頭症、水腦症。
    6. 代謝性腦病變-如粒腺體疾病、維他命B6缺乏症等。
    7. 急重症腦炎-如細菌性腦膜炎、病毒性腦炎、重積型癲癇、腦血管拴塞及腦出血。
    8. 腦腫瘤診斷及後續追蹤照顧。
  • 本科的特色為:
    1. 整合兒童復健科、兒童心智科、兒童耳鼻喉科、兒童眼科及兒童內科各次專科,提供兒童全面性的評估與治療。
    2. 多樣的檢測工具-如南台灣唯一的24小時錄影腦波記錄及24小時腦波紀錄專屬病房,可對難治療的癲癇病童做長時間的腦波監測。
    3. 24小時的兒童神經急重症處置,不經照會由專科醫師於加護病房直接處置,以在第一時間將腦傷減至最低。
    4. 重視病童家屬的心理需求,定期舉辦病友會活動。
    5. 針對困難治療頑性癲癇患者,提供客製化生酮飲食治療計劃,由兒童神經科及營養部共同合作回診,目前治療成功率及持續使用率為全國之冠。為本院特色醫療。
    6. 與神經外科合作發展癲癇手術治療,目前已組成兒童癲癇手術團隊及買進高端儀器設備,可以服務南台灣需要癲癇手術之病患。
  • 本科目前共4位主治醫師,黃立同醫師致力於嬰幼兒抽痙的研究;張瑛玿醫師專長於兒童神經認知發展和新生兒缺氧窒息腦病變;洪碧蓮醫師專長神經疾患之生酮飲食治療、兒童癲癇治療及兒童神經罕病整合照護;徐美欣醫師為目前科主任,專長為神經重症及腦炎等治療。
