Why Chang Gung Craniofacial Center?
Chang Gung Craniofacial Center is comprised of many world-leading surgeons and orthodontists, which has led to the influx of numerous international fellows and observers for subspeciality training and exposure. As of 2007, the Center has trained 269 trainees from 39 different countries.
Several hundred scientific articles have been published by the Center in journals such as: Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery and Annals of Plastic Surgery. Click here for a list of publications.
Chang Gung Craniofacial Center is committed to staying abreast of the most advanced developments in craniofacial treatments as well as being at the forefront of developing many of these most advanced treatments. The Center's world-recognized faculty members regularly take part in international conferences and symposia and are leaders in many of the regional, national, and international craniofacial societies.
The members of the Center have received numerous national and international awards and distinctions, including the 200X Maliniac Lecture, the , , . The Center has also been awarded the highly prized Gold Symbol of National Quality award (Taiwan), an award which is reserved only for the highest quality institutions which are leaders at the international level.
The Center's patient-centered focus of care ensures that the world-reknowned surgical expertise present at the Center is made complete with the caring and compassionate auxiliary care delivered by the closely-collaborating multidisciplinary team.
The Center is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment in the clinics and operating rooms as well as the most advanced facilities throughout the institution.
Chang Gung Memorial Hospital has gathered together prominent medical professionals from different sub-specialties to build its world reknowned Craniofacial Center. Based on its leadership and comprehensive patient care, the Center is continually expanding and its activity volume is enlarging yearly.
Thus far, the Center has performed over 30,000 cases of cleft lip and palate surgery, 400 cases of microtia reconstruction, 100 cases of neurofibroma treatment, 100 cases of fibrous dysplasia, 3,000 cases of orthognathic surgery and 2,000 cases of facial bone remodeling.
The extremely high per-surgeon case volume experienced in the center has allowed the members to gain an extraordinary amount of expertise in various highly specialized craniofacial operations. The high volume is a product of the excellent reputation enjoyed by the Center, resulting in the Center serving as both a regional and international referral center for the most advanced types of craniofacial operations.
