The Library houses about 32,000 volumes, subscribes to nearly 45,000 electronic resources

Online Catalogs : Linkou medical library Webpac

The library is located on the B1 of General Building C (綜合大樓, C棟) in the Lin-Kou Medical Center. The library covers 1,090 square meters and includes:

● Books area: All Books recommended books are here.

● Circulation desk: You can borrow, return and renew materials and get interlibrary loan documents here.

● Current periodical area: All periodicals of the current year are here.

● Recommended books area: Display new books and some specific books.

● Information retrieval area: Providing computers for readers to use scanners and search the WebPAC, HIS,E-resources, and the Internet.

● Reading area: We provide 80 seats for readers to read. Some areas provide laptop power supplies and also provide free loan of mobile power supplies.

● Multimedia Maker Area: We provide 2 computers with video and e-book production software installed for readers to create video lesson plans.

● Evidence-based Medicine and multi-learning area: We provide 6 computers in this area for teaching purposes.

● Leisure reading area: We provide readers with Chinese newspapers and hold no regular promotional activities in this area.

● Meeting room: We have 2 meeting rooms and both are equipped with projection equipment for meetings. One can accommodate 3 to 20 people, another one can accommodate 2 to 8 people. It must be reserved at the circulation desk.

● Photocopy room:3 photocopy machines are located in the library.

● Who is eligible to borrow books？

1.Employee of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.(Employee ID Card required)

2.Visitors or Fellows who have filed on personnel archive system.

3.Faculty, Staff and Students of Chang Gung University

● Loan Periods (Employee ID Card required)

Books：14 days

Periodicals：2 days

DVD：5 days

● Overdue Materials

1.Grace period for 2 days, but fines must be paid.

(1).Books：NT$5 per day

(2).DVDs：NT$30 per day

2.No grace period

Periodicals：NT$ 5 per day

● Reservation

Books that are currently on loan or books new received will on display desk for one week can be reserved from WebPAC or App.

● Renewal

Books can be renewed once for 14 days; periodicals and DVDs cannot be renewed.

(2) Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan is a service for users to obtain material not available in the Medical Library and accepts applications to photocopy books and journal articles from other domestic and overseas libraries. The service is only for employees of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. The applicant should fill out an application form at the website(https://ndds.stpi.narl.org.tw/).

Fees：

①Domestic Library：

Regular (2-4days)：NT$5 per page + NT$20 per article

②Overseas Library：

National Library of Medicine (4 days)：NT$450 per article

(3) Photocopy Service：

There are 3 photocopying machines in the library, and payment with Easy Card is accepted. Cost is NT$ 1 per page.

(4) Color Photocopy Service：

The library offers color photocopying and printing service performed by the library staff at circulation desk. Cost is NT$ 4 per page(A4) and NT$9 per page (A3)..

(5) Reference Consultant Service：

Reference librarians are available to answer readers’ questions and provide reference, bibliographic and consultative services to help readers get access to the library’s resources and other computer-based information.

(6) Internet：

The library provides the Internet for readers to use academic resources, but some web pages are not available (for example: Google Drive, Facebook and YouTube…etc.)

(7) Wifi Access：

Readers can use a laptop or pad to set up a link to 「cgmh-free」 to use the free wireless WiFi in the library.

(8) Scanner：

The library provides a scanner for readers to scan documents, pictures and slides.

All of our Electronic resources are merged in E-Resources Gateway, please use your personal account password or public account password :visitor (only in the intranet)

(1) Database：

We provide over 50 database, including: Access Surgery, Access Medicine, Access Pharmacy, Clinical Key, Cochrane Library, DynaMed, Embase, Medline, Journals @ Ovid, Micromedex, JCR, Science Direct, ProQuest Medical Library, UpToDate, Web of Science(SCIE) , Journal Citation Report(JCR) ,MedOne Plastic Surgery, STATdx...etc.

(2) E-Journals：

We provide over 33,000 English e-Journals are available.

(3) E-Books：

We provide over 10,000 e-books of EBL, Clinical Key, ClinicalKey Nursing, McGraw-Hill, Medone, etc.

(4) Bibliographic Tools：

Endnote is provided to our readers.

NO Eating and Drinking in the library are also prohibited.
