CGMH Kaohsiung

Founded in January 1986 and officially inaugurated alongside the Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in January 1987, the Department of Diagnostic Radiology has grown exponentially from its modest beginnings. Initially equipped with basic X-ray units and a single whole-body CT scanner, the department has expanded into a comprehensive expert team of over 40 highly specialized physicians, more than 50 radiologic technologists, and 15 dedicated nursing staff.

In July 1994, to provide more specialized care, the department was formally divided into the Division of General Radiology and the Division of Neuroradiology. We offer a full spectrum of cutting-edge diagnostic and interventional services, including conventional radiography, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), ultrasound, mammography, angiography, and advanced image-guided minimally invasive treatments (such as various drainage tube placements and transarterial embolization).

Entering the digital era with the implementation of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) in January 2004, we continue to embrace rapid advancements in medical imaging. Today, our multidisciplinary team remains steadfastly committed to the concurrent advancement of clinical service, medical education, and innovative research, striving to deliver the most advanced, comprehensive, and compassionate imaging care to our patients.
