因為該菌株中大腸桿菌Escherichia coli (E. Coli) BL21(DE3)具有T7-lac
promoter 的 特 性 ， 加 入 isopropyl-β-D-galactoside (IPTG) 使 T7 RNA
polymerase 開始Induction，並且基於elastin-like sequences會有低臨界溶液
溫度(Lower Critical Solution Temperature，LCST)特性，使它們可以在4°C溶
解 (solubilization) and 37°C下沉澱(precipitation)藉以純化,合成和製造細胞
外間質負責媒介細胞附著的蛋白質，例如玻連蛋白(vitronectin)的Arg-Gly-
Asp （ RGD ） 由 Arginie 精 氨 酸 ， Glycine 甘 氨 酸 和 Aspartate 天 冬 氨 酸
tripeptide(三肽)組成，或是合成另一類的控制組RDG 。
