The department of orthopeadic surgery in Chang Gung memorial hospital was integrated in 2003/07, and was divided to 4 divisions according to the capability. The joint reconstruction division was established with the trend. With aging population society, more and more people who had got arthritis need joint replacement surgery. With advancement of technology and improving of prosthesis material, joint replacement surgery became a kind of safe, effective, and long time surviving operation. The early prosthesis used since early 1970 to nearly developed new type prosthesis recent years, the results of surgery were very good. The American National Institutes of Health (NIH) had proved the effectiveness of joint replacement surgery with official papers.

The joint reconstruction division of department of orthopeadic surgery in Chang Gung memorial hospital is the most outstanding and unabridged team from this country to worldwide. We had outstanding work both in basic research and in clinical, and our belief is “endless pursuing until perfect”
