is usually personal sovereignty and social pressure. Social
pressure would make decision of living donation invalid.
Doctors often tell “white lies” to help reluctant potential donors
get around social pressure by declaring them medically
unsuitable, such as anatomical unsuitability. But some doctors
believe that agreeing to donate to avoid a breach in relations
wound still be voluntary. In my opinion, personal sovereignty
is the most important, not to mention this is the matter of
personal organ. It is crucial for timely white lies after close
observation and consultation. This book also talks about organs
sale, which may relieve the shortage of organs. Currently this
might be impossible in Taiwan. But we need to think about
several questions. How should we treat patients who have
illegally acquired organs. My opinion is quite close to the
author: prohibiting sale infringes people’s rights over their
bodies. Sales should finally be allowed.

This book also discusses the transplant team. Sometimes
we might choose to say yes to every request of donor only
because he/she is a donor. In this book it tells that even
potential recipients and donors have a right to consent, they do
not have a absolute right to consent, they do not have a right to
insist on donation in the circumstance that, for example, the
operation might be risky or any other concern. In the contrary,
we might need to discover the real problem under every
unreasonable request.
