•TORS is a safe and effective technique for performing a total or near total resection of the lingual tonsil hypertrophic tissue.
•The possibility of LT regrowth after TORS resection is very low.
•LT regrowth would seem not to be related to the volume of LT removed nor to the amount of time elapsed since surgery.
