The participants' samples of CGMH Tissue Bank are available to researchers for many types of studies. Listed below are studies that are currently using samples from Tissue Bank. This information will be updated periodically so that participants can learn more about how the tissue bank is helping to advance clinical research at CGMH.

Colon Cancer Study
Dr. Jinn-Shiun Chen is researching genetic variant in colon cancer. Tissue Bank provided 400 tissue specimens for his study. The findings of his study might provide a critical assessment in the detection of high risk patients with malignancy.

Liver Cancer study
Dr. Chau-Ting Yeh is studying HBV DNA mutation in human hepatocellular carcinoma. He has requested 200 tissue specimens from Tissue Bank. The association between HBV DNA mutation and their drug resistance will be better understand via his study.

Oral cancer study
Dr. Li-Ang Lee is searching prognosis marker of oral cancer. He has requested 200 tissue specimens from Tissue Bank. Our samples help him identify additional prognostic and predictive factors preoperatively for early diagnosis and personalized medicine.

Urothelial Cancer Study
Dr. See-Tong Pang is researching epigenetic modification in urorhelial cancer. Tissue Bank provided 100 tissue specimens for him to indentify novel epigenic modifications that are important to urothelial cancer

Glioma study
Dr. Kuo-Chen Wei is interesting in finding tumor markers in glioma and is trying to apply these results to new treatment strategies. He has requested 50 tissue specimens from Tissue Bank. His goal is to develop promising tumor treatment methods and to prevent the relapse of disease.

Thyroid Cancer Study
Dr. Szu-Tah Chen is researching genetic variants in thyroid cancer. 15 of hyroid cancer tissue specimens were provided by Tissue Bank. The findings of his study might be clinical applied as possible tumor markers of thyroid cancer.

MicroRNA Study
Dr. Tse-Ching Chen is screening the possible oncomiRs in colon cancer. He has requested 200 tissue specimens from Tissue Bank. His study may help to further understand the role of miRNA in colon cancer progression.
