• How much do I have to pay to receive rehabilitation treatments?
    Answer: If you are insured by the National Health Insurance, it will pay for your rehabilitation treatments. However, partial fee payment of 50 New Taiwan Dollars (NTD) needs to be paid from the second treatment course and onwards. If the severity of your rehabilitation treatment is regarded as moderate-severe or severe, then you don’t need to pay for the partial fee of 50 NTD.
  • How do I start my rehabilitation treatment programs?
    Answer: Please consult our physiatrists and they will arrange a series of rehabilitation treatment programs that are suitable for you. After every 6 treatment courses, patients must return to the outpatient clinic and discuss with their physiatrists on whether or not the treatment programs should be modified.
  • Can I continue to receive physical therapy after knee intra-articular hyaluronic acid injection?
    Answer: There are no evidences suggesting that physical therapy should be halted after receiving hyaluronic acid injection to the knee joints. However, deep thermal modality treatment such as shortwave diathermy to the knee joints should be avoided about one week after hyaluronic acid injections.
  • I have just received a bypass surgery for my heart. When should I start cardiac rehabilitation?
    Answer: Cardiac rehabilitation should be started as soon as possible after the surgery. Once you are medically stable, you should visit our physiatrist as soon as possible to start your cardiac rehabilitation treatment program.
  • Is there such thing as "golden" treatment time period? Does that mean that I cannot receive any more rehabilitation treatments one year after the onset of my illness (ex/ such as stroke)?
    Answer: If you suffered from stroke, you should be medically and functionally stable after one year. Most likely you don’t need to receive any more aggressive in-patient treatments. However, you are still welcome to receive out-patient rehabilitation treatments if you still experience some limb function disabilities. Please visit our physiatrists for any further inquiries.
  • If I am a foreigner or not insured by the National Health Insurance, can I still receive rehabilitation treatments?
    Answer: Yes. For foreigners and patients without the Republic of China National Health Insurance, you can still receive our top quality rehabilitation services through self-paid status. Every physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy treatment course costs 2,000 NTD.
  • I am busy during the day time working hours. Does your department offer evening hour rehabilitation treatment services?
    Answer: Yes. Physical therapy service is offered in Taipei and Taoyuan branches of our hospital during evening hours from 6 pm to 9 am, Monday to Friday.
  • I have flat foot. Does your department manufacture insoles? Are insoles covered by the National Health Insurance?
    Answer: Yes. We have the most advanced computer aided design/manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system for making insoles. If you have problems such as flat foot, pes cavus or hallux valgus etc, please visit our physiatrists for the prescription of insoles. Insoles are not covered by the National Health Insurance. They cost from 1,500 NTD to 4000 NTD, depending on the type of insole you choose.
  • How much time is needed for each rehabilitation treatment?
    Answer: It depends on the type of treatment you receive. For instance, if you have low back pain and receives physical therapy of hot pack and pelvic traction, it takes about 30 minutes to complete the treatment. However, if you receive more complicated treatments such as ambulation training and therapeutic exercises, it will take more than one hour.
  • I think my child has developmental delay? How can I confirm whether my child has developmental delay? If yes, when should my child start rehabilitation treatment?
    Answer: Please visit our pediatric physiatrists as soon as possible. We have tests to document whether your child has developmental delay or not. There is no age limit in receiving rehabilitation treatments. A developmental delay child should start early intervention rehabilitation treatments as soon as possible.
