For the following data:

9 11 24 18
5 21 8 3
6 10 16 7
4 22 19 9
15 15 8 10

a. Estimate the standard error of the mean?
b. Calculate the 95% confidence interval?
c. Calculate the 99% confidence interval?

A weight-loss clinic claims that members lose an average of 10 pounds in the first two weeks after joining?A statistician decided to test this claim, and randomly sampled 50 new members. After two weeks, the mean weight loss by this sample was 8.5 pounds, with a standard deviation of 1.8 pounds.Based on this sample, what would the statistician probably conclude about the claim?
