An insurance company wants to know the proportion of medical doctors in New York involved in at least one malpractice suit in the last three years. They survey a random sample of 200 medical doctors in New York. Which of the following best describes the population?

A) All U.S. doctors
B) The 200 doctors surveyed
C) All doctors who practice in New York state
D) All doctors in the U.S. who work for an HMO

I assume that the random sample was from new york state and not NY city.

Since the study is only looking in NY then the population is all doctors in NY
