weighted average
Message posted by Gem on December 18, 2000 at 12:00 AM (ET)

I have data on the loan amount extended tp specific, microenterprises (manufacturing and furniture), and the cost of employment per microenterprise. However, different amounts of loan are given per similar microenterprise. How do I get the average per enterprise?

(e.g. in manufacturing, there is one group which receives $1,000 and the no. of people employed was 7; and another group, also in the manufacturing, received only $250 and the no. of people employed was 3.)

Thanks.

If you mean. How to make a weighted average ?

If your variable is X

Weighted Average = (X1*times1 + X2*times2+ X3* times3)/(times1+times2+times3)
