my teacher asked if any of the students knew what the point in a "bell curve" is called when the slope changes from downward to upward? it isnt standard deviation or the mu. could you get back to me on that? thanks.

The mode is where the slope changes from upward to downward and the point of inflection is where the second derivative changes sign.
