how do you solve for percentiles for a group of data that is given to you for instance the 30th percentile in the group of dqt 20,25,35,55,95

There is a certain arbitrariness when you have so little data. Berenson and Levine suggest the following - (5+1)*.3=1.8, round to 2 and thus the second observation is the 30th percentile. See some of the references and links at (129.2.115.68/stats) for further details.
