P Value and Confidence Interval
Message posted by Ajay Sharma on September 21, 2000 at 12:00 AM (ET)

I am a doctor would like to calculate P value and confidence interval on patient data...

I am not very clear on how they are computed and what exactly do they signify.

If you could give me this information or pointers to where I can find the same on the web, it will be great!!!!

Thanks!

Look at some of the reference and links at (129.2.115.68/stats) . Search the web introductory biostatistics, look at some of the NIH or center for disease control web sites.

Calculating a confidence interval or calculation a p-value are two ways of doing hypothesis testin - accept, reject, etc. The p-value is the largest alpha value that will allow you to accept the hykpothesis.
