How do you make calculations to determine the number of persons ( sample size) to be surveyed under various response rate assumptions to get a +/-10% margin of error. For example, if my total population is 1600 people and I assume a 50% or 60% response rate to a survey I want to send, how do I calculate the number of persons( sample size) I need to send the survey to in order to maintain a margin of error of 10% or less.
