standard error
Message posted by M Lacy on January 9, 2000 at 12:00 AM (ET)

When would I report a standard
error instead of a standard
deviation? I have a very large
sample (30,000+); mean=30, s=25,
se=.14. The variable is positively
skewed - does that matter?

See: Bartko JJ. Rationale for reporting standard deviations rather than standard errors of the mean.
