Every ten seconds, a person in the U.S. wonders how statistics are calculated relating to the time and that particular stat. They also wonder if there is a web-site specifically for us lazy individuals with time related stats?

Look at some of the links on . Also do a search for <"statistics computations"> . How 'public' statistices are calculated is more of a political and administrative problem then a mathematical problem. Note the controversy about the use of sampling to correct the census data.
Also, look at books such as 'The data game' by Mark H. Maier , etc. You also wish to look at books such as 'How to lie with statistics' etc.
