What is the definition for Margin of Error and how do you compute it?

Margin of error can mean many things but it is generally a statement of how accurate a number or measurement is. It is derived from the variability of the data or the physical limitations of the measuring process. Such as this scale is accurate to within +/- 2 lbs or 37% +/- 5% of the audience watched this show, etc.
