sensitivity analysis
Message posted by Bryan Facca on September 21, 1999 at 12:00 AM (ET)

My question is on sensitivity analysis of data presented. Specifically the use of the 95% confidence interval (CI) presented with data. What is an acceptable range for the CI around the data to be acceptable or meaningful.

You have to decide what the appropriate margin of error is in a particular application. For instance, you do not need to know the price of a hamburger to a fraction of a cent but a .1 cent change in the price of wheat may make a big difference if you are buying 100 million pounds of wheat.
