Re: How to type mean x bar in word 97 Then: Then under Font scroll to WP Math B. The x-bar character is in the top row. Select it and then hit For aestheic reasons I usually will block the x-bar symbol and increase the font size for to make it larger.
Re: How to type mean x bar in word 97 In my previous post you start with the INSERT menu. Good luck.
Re: How to type mean x bar in word 97 1) Using Word 97 - Place your cusor where the x bar should be inserted. From the drop-down menu, select Insert, then Object. Click "Create New" tab and scroll down to Microsoft Equation 3.0. Make sure "Float over text" is NOT checked. Double click on MS Equation 3.0. An Equation bar will appear. (If a separate window appears then use the View menu to display the tool bar.) Go to Row 2, column 6. This is the "Under bar/ over bar template. There are two symbols in this box. Pick the square with the line over it. This brings up a drop-down menu. Pick the square with the bar over it. This will bring up a box in which you can type the "x" - do so then click outside the box if separate window did not appear. I you are in a separate window then type the x and then click File and exit. This will place the x bar where you cusor was. I can't believe it either. 2) The second way is to type the x and then use the Line button on the Drawing tool bar to draw the bar over the x. This is easier if you "zoom" your screen. Good luck.
