How do you set a confidence level? For example, how does a margin of error calculation changes if you have a confidence level of 95% or a confidence level of 99%?

99% is 2.58/1.96 as large as 95% and for a t distribution this ratio depends on degrees of freedom. For a chi-squared distribution or an F etc. this ration may be different.
