Regression and optimising advertising mail

Please could someone help me. I want to know more about how regression can be used to help better target advertising mail?

What type of customers are you trying to reach and what do you know about them.

Thank you for responding, please could respond ASAP. I'm talking with respect to a direct marketing company who recieve surveys from consumers on lifestyle preferences. I would like to know how regression is used to target consumers.

You have to look at an itroductory book of 'Business statistics' to have a general idea what linear regression and curve fitting in general are all about. Once you have a better idea what can be done, Microsoft Excel or Minitab might be useful to you.

Actually, you may wish to use 'clustering' methods to group you customers in groups.
