Pearson's r rule
Message posted by Cheri (via 152.163.207.83) on July 11, 2001 at 4:49 PM (ET)

I am having a terrible time with this multiple choice problem, please - will someone help me?

Pearson's r should be used when:
a)a researcher thinks that his variables have a linear relationship.
b)a researcher thinks that his variables have a curvilinear relationship.
c)they are particularly concerned with the direction of the correlation.
d)both a and b above.
