Smoking (the X variable) and heart disease (the Y variable) have a positive correlation. This means that:

a)the more a person smokes, the less the chance of heart disease
b)the less a person smokes, the greater the chance of heart disease
c)the less a person smokes, the less the chance of heart disease
d)smoking causes heart disease

A positive correlation. This means that:

X increases, Y increases
X decreases, Y decreases

So:

c)the less a person smokes, the less the chance of heart disease
