Digital Image Capturing Device

Sony DKR 700/1

Allows storage of up to 100 non-compressed or 1000 compressed still images onto a Sony MD Data Disk. Images may then be printed with a standard video printer, or downloaded onto a computer in TIFF, JPEG, or BITMAP format for storage, slidemaking or publishing. Optional accessories include an external drive for connecting to a computer, Photostudio software for acquiring and importing images, and SCSI connecting cables.

Instant Slide Making

Surgislide

Accepts a standard video signal in RGB, S-Video or composite format to capture images onto standard slide film. When paired with the Sony DKR 700/1, or when used live during surgery, the surgeon can enjoy instant image capturing and slidemaking capabilities for presentation purposes.

Live recording – Video Cassette Recorders

S-VHS

Two S-VHS format VCRs are available for presentation-quality videotaping. The Sony model SVO-9500 is a simple-to-use recorder that may be controlled by the user control buttons on the Karl Storz camera heads, or optional Sony footswitches. The "Izziton" interface connects to Sony monitors with the "Izziton" feature so each time the VCR is in record mode, a green light on the monitor illuminates.

VHS

The Sony SVO-1320 is a standard VHS recorder that still offers "Izziton" and Karl Storz camera head user control button interface. It is recommended for those facilities that do not demand presentation-quality recordings.

Video Monitors

A variety of sizes and price points are available. For general hospital use, the 19" Sony Medical Grade monitor is recommended. This monitor is UL listed to meet regulatory requirements, plus offers high resolution imaging (650 lines). The "Izziton" light combines with Sony VCRs to illuminate when the VCR is recording.

Like the 19" version, the 13" Sony medical grade monitor is UL listed and offers high resolution. It is recommended for endoscopic procedures where the size of the larger monitor is prohibitive. These may include hysteroscopy or urology, where the monitor must be placed over the patient on an arm of the video cart. This monitor is also recommended for office endoscopy procedures.

A 13" monitor/VCR combo is available where price and portability are key issues. The Sony product is practical for procedures performed in the physician office. The VCR is standard VHS format.

Light Sources

Adaptors are available to allow connection of Karl Storz products to other manufacturers’s light sources, light guide cables, and endoscopes.
