Division of Hepato-Gastroenterology
Welcome to the
Division of Hepato-Gastroenterology at Chang Gung Medical
Foundation-Kaohsiung Branch, Taiwan.We provide outpatient,
admission services, routine ultrasonographic and endoscopic
examinations.
In addition, several services are offered by our division
including diagnosis and treatment of hepatocellular
carcinoma such as fine needle aspiration and biopsy for
diagnosis, treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma by local
ablation with radiofrequency ablation, percutaneous ethanol
injection and percutaneous acetic acid injection. We have
established a liver unit center, antiviral therapies for
patients with chronic hepatitis B and C, and laboratory
examinations such as viral load and genotyping for HBV DNA
and HCV RNA to evaluate and monitor response to treatment.
We provide 24 hours emergent therapeutic panendoscopic
service. Endoscopic mucosal resection and endoscopic
submucosal dissection are also used for early gastric
cancer. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography are
available and permitted the performance of various
fluoroscopy guided procedures including stent insertion and
biliary stones extraction.
Clinical research studies have been an important part in our
division, we have published at least 40 papers in
peer-reviewed international scientific journals in the past
three years. Our division is qualified for training
residents in the internal medicine and fellows in the
gastrointestinal subspecialty.
