Introduction

Moderator: Dr. Tzu-Hao Wang

Genomic Medicine Research Core Laboratory (GMRCL) of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital was opened on May 11, 2002.

Two research directions of GMRCL are:
1. analysis of mRNA for profiling of gene expression patterns and
2. analysis of genomic DNA for detection of disease-related genomic variations.

The missions of GMRCL include:
1. to provide researchers of CGMH and Chang Gung University with a state-of-the-art core facility for genomic medicine research,
2. to assist researchers of CGMH and Chang Gung University in study design of genomic medicine research experiments and interpret results through bioinformatics,
3. to provide education about genomic medicine and relevant technology training to researchers and students, and
4. to coordinate an open forum for researchers to share experiences and collaborate with experts from a wide range of disciplines.
