- Do not shave your armpits before surgery.
- Please be punctual, if you are not able to arrive at the time appointed,
kindly notify us with a phone call 3 days in advance.
Postoperative care instruction
- Do not lift your arms above your shoulders for two weeks. Any outward stretching (abduction) of arms (for instance, pulling the handle on bus; pulling on a turtleneck; riding bikes or steering wheel) is strictly prohibited. Avoid intensive exercise, over-sweating, for these activities may cause hematoma, skin necrosis or poor healing of the wounds.
- Change dressing is unnecessary. Go back to clinic for the nursing staff to remove the gauze on the fourth day after operation.
- After the fourth day, self wound care is advisable. Clean your arm pits with normal saline solution or boiled water, dab them dry, apply a thin membrane of ointment then cover with gauze.
- If you have swelling or hematoma or any problem, come back to our dermatology clinic or emergency room for help.
